Zaid Butt

Partner

Zaid became a Partner at Evolved, in 2025, and serves as the primary engagement partner for tax structuring and planning matters. He focuses on private equity and corporate transactions with particular expertise in the application of Unrelated Business Taxable Income (UBTI) and Effectively Connected Income (ECI) rules. He also advises on federal, state and local tax exposures for his clients related to transactional planning, entity structuring, and ongoing operations.   

Recognized for innovative solutions and responsiveness, Zaid is often on tax structuring strategy calls with legal counsel and finance executives for current and future dealmaking scenarios. In addition to overseeing client engagements, he leads internal tax team development and drives new business initiatives at Evolved. Zaid earned his BBA in Accounting from Baruch College and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of CPAs. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
